Founded by the French pair, Nicolas Libert and Emmanuel Renoird, a decade ago in Los Angeles, Please Do Not Enter brings at Signal, their world of art, design and fashion, with a selection of offbeat brands rarely seen elsewhere, alongside M5 store, the forthcoming Departamento concept store, the Periode Correct fashion label inspired by the world of vintage cars, and home décor boutiques Alchemy Works and Flamingo Estates.

"We had already collaborated with Raan and Lindsay Parton, founders of Free Market shopping center and Signal, at their Playa Vista Free Market location," said Libert.

"We always liked their aesthetic, their language and their personality, and the ecosystem they proposed seemed interesting. We chose the pop-up format we'd already launched at Nomad Hotel and South Coast Plaza mall, and as in both places, it's possible we'll be staying longer than a few months."

Facing the street, and the main aisle of the Signal complex, Please Do Not Enter store unveils a minimal concept that opens onto a first installation with an accordion-like structure signed by interior design studio Molo, and serving as a fitting room.

"For the selection, our same fashion, design and contemporary DNA still speaks," added Libert. "We are focusing on emerging artists and designers, and talents we love such as the Japanese brands Facetasm and Taakk, the Koreans from Wooyoungmi, the Very Rare brand founded by Paris-based designer Raf Reyes, who integrates references to art and culture into his collections, and pieces from the French brands Louis Gabriel Nouchi and Egonlab."

Please Do Not Enter also presents a series of accessories and jewelry including Moslim earrings produced in 3D, sunglasses and jewelry by Chinese brand Yvnim, and nose jewelry founded by Brazilian designer Alan Crocetti. Also on display are Walter Van Beirendonck caps, Henrik Vibskov hats, a vintage selection of jewelry ranging from Dior to Yves Saint Laurent, and Félicie Aussi socks with funny messages such as "lazy ass" or "loser".

The boutique also features a selection of art and design objects, starting with ceramics by Belgian designer Hugo Meert and his wall lights in the shape of a woman's breast, a series of portraits by photographer Grégoire Cheneau taken in one of the last pornographic cinemas, and mask molds by César, the manufacturer of the famous plastic masks of our childhood, and the Disney licensee behind the masks of Mickey, Minnie, the Gremlin's and Hulk. Finally, a furniture edition by Please Do Not Enter re-enacts the codes of Italian design from the 60s and 70s.
