It’s been a busy year of UK expansion for Miniso. And the story continues with the Chinese lifestyle retailer about to open its first-ever UK airport store at London Standsted on Thursday (19 December).
Called Miniso-Go, it features a curated selection of popular travel products alongside the brand’s extensive range of affordable items. As with its host of retail openings this year, the first 200 shoppers will enjoy a special gift with purchase.
Spanning 80 sq m and blending ‘fun with affordability’ featuring lifestyle essentials and beauty products, wider collections include collaborations with Harry Potter, Hello Kitty and Friends and Disney.
The new store is dressed in the brand’s standard “cheerful pink interiors and playful displays [to] create a vibrant stopover for travellers”.
Saad Usman, chief operating officer at Miniso UK, said: “Airports are hubs of adventure and exploration, making Stansted the ideal location to bring our ‘Life is For Fun’ ethos to life. Whether jetting off on holiday or returning home, we aim to add a touch of fun and convenience to every trip.”
Peter Newbould, chief executive of Lagardère Travel Retail UK & Ireland, the airport’s retail operator, added: “This new store perfectly complements our existing portfolio and underscores our dedication to providing passengers with innovative and memorable shopping experiences.”
This latest opening marks the third Miniso-Go store in the UK, after recent arrivals within rail hubs at London Victoria, and London Paddington stations.
This year, Miniso stores have also opened in Wembley, Newcastle, Windsor Royal, Bristol, Manchester Trafford Centre, Bluewater and London’s Camden.
