Adidas’ weird new $250 sneakers divide shoppers20:19,长沙长沙USDT交易 November 28

Adidas’ AVAVAV collaboration brand has come under fire after the release of its latest collection—which includes the Superstar sneakers. The $250 sneakers, which debuted at Milan Fashion Week as part of the 2025 AVAVAV collection, feature removable rubber toes—called “Superfingers”—that mimic barefoot running shoes.

The “extra appendage,” according to Adidas, is a reference to the AVAVAV’s “four-finger motif,” which can be seen in the brand’s logo.

But these bizarre shoes have divided shoppers, with some hailing the look as “cool,” while others are taking to social media to slam the brands for the outlandish designs, which they’ve called “cursed,” “ugly,” and “alien.”

“If you call this fashion, you need therapy,” quipped one. “Wow, Adidas sucks now.”

But AVAVAV creative director Beate Karlsson called the collaboration “a long-time dream,” though she doesn’t take it too seriously.

“From the beginning of our partnership, I was encouraged to ‘make fun’ of Adidas,” she said. “There’s so much irony in how seriously we take sports and fashion; exploring that while still being serious has been incredibly fun.”

Despite the controversy, the market appears to have spoken—some sizes of the sneakers have already sold out online.
