Watches of Switzerland Group has announced a distribution partnership with independent Swiss dive-watch maker Doxa.
The agreement will see Doxa’s collection made available at all of Watches of Switzerland showrooms in the UK and also the US, as well as online.
“This is an important step… the reach and strength of the Watches of Switzerland Group network will further strengthen the momentum and Doxa’s overall development in the UK”, said brand CEO Jan Edöcs.
Craig Bolton, executive director at the Watches of Switzerland, acknowledged that Doxa has “made a mark for its diving watches” and was "proud to help with the growth of this exceptional brand”.
The collaboration will include the launch of Doxa’s Sub 300 carbon COSC collection “offering a modern take on its iconic diver’s watch”. The collection comes in six dial colours (turquoise, yellow, navy blue, grey, black, and orange) and debuts this month priced £3,750.
Doxa also said it is doubling-down on the strategy this year with an extension for the family into lightweight carbon-cased timepieces.
The latest addition to the WoS offer will boost the retailer’s ambitions to improve on its already-strong trading performance throughout the pandemic. The premium timepiece retailer continued its impressive run of sales gains into Q3 and then stood by its full-year guidance.
It recorded a “robust” e-commerce performance for its UK ops and “continued strong growth” in the US over the 13-week period ended 24 January as group revenue rose 6.6% year-on-year in constant currency to £272.6 million, up 5.7% on a reported basis. UK revenue rose 1.5% to £186.1 million, a strong result, given the pandemic-induced restrictions.
