Designer Vera Wang, known for her delicate and romantic wedding dresses, has stepped into the jewelry game with a partnership with Jared Jewelers, Robb Report writes. The two companies are upping their game with a high-end collection called Vera Wang x Jared Atelier.
"It's really about being creative and personal with jewelry," Wang says of her new jewelry line. "You can wear it however you want; there are no rules."
Wang’s signature style at Jared Atelier is very much in keeping with her aesthetic, both professionally and personally, emphasizing the juxtaposition of soft femininity and bold minimalism in an assortment of brooches, necklaces, earrings, and cuff bracelets crafted from ribbons, snakes, and cords—all adorned with white diamonds set in 18k or 14k white gold.
Standout new pieces include a snake brooch and a long, flexible strand of diamonds, designed by Wang herself, that seems versatile for both men and women. For the more sartorially adventurous man, the brooch is a perfect fit for the increasingly popular trend of wearing brooches with tuxedos.
Meanwhile, the strand of diamonds can be worn in a variety of ways: wrapped around the neck to drape over a tuxedo shirt, or, like Wang, tied around the neck to dangle over a dress. It can be worn as a belt as well—if you dare to wear diamonds at the waist.
The thoughtfulness of how the pieces are worn may not be apparent at first glance. Take the bow earrings, which look fairly traditional, but under Wang’s eye, they are worn as ear clips, a hipster take on the resurgent ’80s trend.
The pieces will range in price from $12,500 to $125,000.
