Sindalah, an island resort in the Red Sea designed by Italian studio Luca Dini Design and Architecture, has become the first project to be completed in Saudi Arabia’s NEOM “city of the future,” Dezeen reports.
The “luxury island resort,” located five kilometers off the coast of NEOM in the Red Sea, has opened to a select group of invited guests.
“NEOM is committed to supporting a new era of luxury tourism in the [Saudi] Kingdom with the opening of Sindalah,” said Neom CEO Nadhmi Al Nasr. “The realization of this iconic destination, the gateway to the Red Sea, is made possible by the visionary leadership of His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman and his Vision 2030.”
Sindalah was designed by Luca Dini Design and Architecture, which is best known for designing superyachts, and is built around an 86-berth marina and yacht club. The island has hotels, restaurants and facilities, including the Sindalah Yacht Club, with interiors designed by Italian fashion brand Stefano Ricci. There is also a beach club and golf club, as well as retail outlets and yacht management services.
Visitors to the island can choose from 440 rooms, 88 villas, and more than 200 serviced apartments.
Sindalah expects to welcome 2,400 visitors a day by 2028.
