New Zealand-based fashion brand Harris Tapper is launching in the UK via Harrods at the start of August with a two month in-store pop-up running until the end of September.

Founded by Sarah Harris Gould and Lauren Tapper in 2025, the label aims to “create clothing that serves women and their multi-faceted lives”.
The duo said they recognised a gap in the market for “quality women’s shirting at an accessible price point” and said their original focus on shirting (they now offer a much wider product range) was part of their belief in “championing women and their right to work”.
“We value equality at home and in the workplace and this is why we started with shirting, it’s the cornerstone of a woman’s wardrobe and traditional workwear,” they said in a statement accompanying the launch. “More and more we are seeing a 360-degree approach to life where the personal and professional are intertwined, so our offering naturally evolved into designing full wardrobes”.
The launch at Harrods is certainly a strong place for them to set foot in Britain with the Knightsbridge, London, store remaining a key shopping destination, despite the low level of tourism at present.
And the timing is clearly good given the UK Government’s announcement of a more liberal attitude to inbound tourism post-pandemic. US and most EU travellers will no longer have to isolate on arrival in England, Scotland or Wales from an amber list country if they’re double-vaccinated.
That’s likely to mean a stronger flow of tourists visiting central London stores.
Harris Tapper’s founders said that Harrods has “always been an industry pioneer, finding and celebrating new houses, and this spirit for discovery along with Harris Gould’s British heritage made it the perfect destination” for the label’s landing in Britain.
The label is also available in several New Zealand, Australia and US stores, as well as online through its own webstore and others, iincluding Moda Operandi.
