Created in Palm Springs in 2025, the concept has already been expanded to new locations including Yucca Valley and San Francisco at the Ferry Building. James Morelos, the founder, was influenced by his mother's love of second-hand stores. He started out as a barber, ran a design store in Brooklyn then launched his first nomadic pop-up on the East Coast of the United States.

A success that pushed him to open his first physical store, a sort of temple to creative craftsmanship, combining beautiful decorative objects, jewelry, stationery, clothing and fashion accessories.

In addition to the Mojave Flea Trading Post stores, Morelos started another concept in early 2025 in Palm Springs called 'Market Market', dedicated to vintage and upcycled furniture and fashion, formerly tested at Row DTLA.

As well as the Mojave Trading Post pop-up, Platform has welcomed a number of new brands in recent months, including designer Johnny Schwartz and his label Yony; Brooklyn-based jewelry brand Catbird; Club Vintage, which opened its first store after launching on Instagram; and Turkish fashion boutique Faraway.
