The London-based designer's latest collection was a diverse look at autumnal dressing, with the Scot's eager eye for detail.
Christopher Kane is the master of a motif. His latest collection opened with a patent leather biker jacket with Mongolian wool with the slick leather appearing across dark tailoring, dresses and separates as asymmetric patches and closures.
He then worked with solid pink, using an origami folded technique to create cut-outs, then adding his signature one-color lace as a series of floral panels. There were more flowers, which came as embroidered motifs and added greens and blues to the palette. The lace then returned as a patchwork of rectangular forms in multiple colors, while the final flurry of looks saw the designer work with an art nouveau-style wreath technique, iridescent sequins, and pleats.
Accessory highlights included the crocodile shoulder bags with a chunky plastic clip, worn with a fur coat and luxe striped leather gloves. Meanwhile footwear included twisted minimalist sandals, and flat biker boots and patent slippers which were decorated with embroidered bands.
