With pricing and value set to be a major issues for parents ahead of the upcoming Back to School (BtS) season, M&S said Thursday it’s holding its school uniform prices for a fourth year and again launching early-bird discounts.

M&S

Citing its own ‘M&S Family Matters Index’, it said the cost of living remains a concern for three-quarters of families, with nearly half placing value as the most important priority when shopping.

So as part of the retailer’s “commitment to protecting value on the products that matter most to customers”, its holding prices while also extending its school uniform returns period to 100 days.

This season’s offer also includes ‘Hand-me-down Quality’ so even when an item is outgrown, “it’s too good to waste and can be handed down to family and friends”.

Across the range, M&S said it has also incorporated “intelligent innovative design features” from growth-proof hems to adjustable waistbands while including permanent pleats in skirts and ‘easy to iron' shirts.

Meanwhile, M&S said it has invested £1 million to introduce dedicated school uniform advisors in over 120 of its Clothing & Home stores, “to support families with expert advice” during the busy BtS season.

Also from 2 July, M&S will be offering an additional 20% off school uniforms for a limited time. Prices in the range start from just £7 for a 3-pack of 100% responsibly sourced cotton unisex polo shirts, featuring stain resistant technology. When the additional 20% BtS offer is applied, prices start from just £5.60.
