Lush is to add hairdressing services to some of its beauty stores, and the UK-based retail chain also plans to open more spas. The first new ‘hair lab’ concept will open in Brighton on 2 December.

The ethical/sustainable beauty chain will offer a range of hair-related services priced £55-£80. It will use chemical-free, natural henna hair dyes, which co-founder and chief executive Mark Constantine told The Timesnewspaper will be “quite extraordinary for a hair salon”.
Also new will be customers’ ability to choose from hard- and soft-water treatments, given the area has some of the hardest water conditions in Britain, he noted.
Lush also plans to recycle 100% of its salon waste, including a re-use strategy for hair cuttings.
“With Brighton being the greenest town, politically, in Britain, we hope people there will appreciate it,” Constantine said.
Lush, which operates 855 stores in 48 countries, has also opened eight spas in Britain, offering massages and various beauty treatments. Next February, it will open a ninth spa on Glasgow's Buchanan Street store while a 10th will follow at a new Covent Garden store in London next spring. Prices for treatments will range from £40-£160.
