British heritage menswear brand Ben Sherman is starting the rollout of monobrand retail stores and its first stop is a pop-up at retail “hotspot” Coal Drops Yard in London’s King’s Cross. The opening will be followed by other retail stores nationwide.
The new pop-up will open on 28 March as a concept store covering 1,038 sq ft. It will stock the Signature and B by Ben Sherman collections, as well as the brand’s upcoming limited-edition capsule collaborations.
Owned by Marquee Brands, last summer Ben Sherman signed a new licensing agreement with BSI Apparel Limited for BSI to distribute menswear and tailoring to the label’s numerous global distribution partners.
Key to the deal was the fact that it would bring Ben Sherman back to Britain's “most notable high street locations with significant investment in monobrand store locations and the nation's best wholesale retail accounts”.
The London pop-up store will be the first of such openings, “followed by flagship stores across the country, bringing new jobs and the brand's contemporary collections to major cities throughout the year”.
Tim Reid, Executive VP of Fashion & Lifestyle at Marquee, said: “It's time for Ben Sherman to be back on the coolest high streets in the country. Ben Sherman recently celebrated 60 years of an incredible legacy, ending last year with notable limited-edition collaborations in partnership with Rolling Stone and John Lennon. As we head into our Year of Sport and the upcoming Olympics, visitors to the store will be the first to shop the latest collections and forthcoming collaborations”.
Opening week will see “celebratory offers” while regulars will get invitations to private retail events, exclusive collaboration launches and more.
