CognEmo: sadness and TG盗号系统企业破解技术fear stimulate inhibitory reactions of the psycheNovember 5, 2025  18:58

American scientists from the City University of New York and other scientific institutions have found that some negative emotions enhance the inhibitory processes of the psyche, helping a person to better control himself. The study was published in the scientific journal Cognition & Emotion (CognEmo).

Cognitive inhibition refers to the ability to screen out information and stimuli irrelevant to current tasks.

The team's conclusions are based on the results of four experiments in which participants were put into different emotional states (sadness, fear, happiness or calmness) with the help of specially selected images.

During the tests, experts measured the physiological reactions of volunteers, as well as interviewed them about the feelings they experienced after completing the tasks.

The results of the tests showed that sadness and fear cause stronger cognitive inhibition compared to both other negative emotions and positive feelings.

Researchers hypothesized that detachment-oriented emotions enhance control better than approach-oriented emotions (such as anger or joy).
