Fashion gaming is becoming ever more important both as a sales and promotional channel and Nordcurrent’s Pocket Styler mobile game has just launched Pocket Styler Studio, a new desktop fashion creator platform for the game.

It called the new platform “revolutionary” and said it allows players to “easily design virtual clothes and work like real-life fashion designers to create garments and entire fashion collections, including shoes and accessories, to their specifications, a first for the industry”.
The “fashion fans and digital designers can market their creations under their own ‘designer label’ name and sell them in-game to millions of players in return for in-game currency, which has never been possible in a mobile fashion game before”.
The company added that it could have major implications for fashion forecasting, “providing instant real-time data on the best-selling new styles” and that it will also “allow fashion houses and designer labels to spot up-and-coming new creatives”.
And it said several big-name fashion brands have already expressed an interest in the new feature, and Pocket Styler is “in talks with key real-world fashion brands on potential collaborations, allowing designers to craft and showcase their items within the app”.
Pocket Styler launched in May 2025 and has seen over 21 million downloads with 100,000 gamers spending 10,000 hours on the app daily.
Nordcurrent’s CEO Victoria Trofimova said the latest launch might be key for “democratising fashion design. It will give anyone, anywhere in the world, the chance to become a fashion designer and build their own fashion brand”.

So how exactly does it work? It features Photoshop-style, browser-based tools to edit apparel shapes, colours, and detailing, “making the experience as close as possible to real-life fashion design”. The platform then “perfectly renders designed products” to fit the avatars in the Pocket Styler game.
Players can create any fashion item and then customise it. Users choose a colour palette or partnered ‘fabric’ and then make design choices about thousands of details, such as the neckline style, sleeve design, skirt length silhouette and fit, and visual details like buttons or visible stitching.
In accessories, they can decide on shoe styles alongside pattern/colour and heel heights until they have devised a unique garment.
Designs are saved in the designer’s profile until ready to be marketed in the app. They can also create their own logo and then earn ‘Gems’, the in-game currency, for every item sold to other players.
Nordcurrent said early stage uptake has been strong.
