H&M will be launching its popular Home concept in Ireland later this year with a debut in Cork to be followed by Dublin. The Opera Lane store in Cork is being relaunched both with the Home concept and with experiential services on 8 September, becoming the first location to offer H&M Home in the country.

The retailer said it will “offer a world-leading interior look and feel for the brand, including the much-awaited introduction of H&M Home, new click and collect lockers and self-service checkouts”.
Home has already proved a popular option both online and in-store in neighbouring Britain so its arrival in key Irish stores makes strong commercial sense.
It’s increasingly seen by the company as a must-have category in its key global flagships, and the company continues to invest strongly in new collections and initiatives (such as its For the Love of Art collaborations with female artists).
It also comes as the group places an ever greater emphasis on non-clothing categories, underlined both by Home’s expansion and its opening this year of the first-ever global flagship for H&M Beauty in Oslo.
And despite the closure of some H&M stores in the UK and Irish market, H&M has also been investing in flagship sites there.
That has meant some stores being out of action during refurbishment works and led it this month to introduce a new concept to address this issue.
It’s currently trialling its new Keep-The-Presence concept for the first time globally in its Market Street store in Manchester. Despite undergoing a rebuild, it’s staying open to customers at various points throughout the coming months with new, temporary store fit-outs being created at the front of the store offering “carefully curated capsule collections through pop-up-style areas”.
