Vintage-inspired fashion retailer Rixo has reopened its Marylebone High Street, London, store following a complete refresh. The resulting revamp is a “familiar take” on the brand’s flagship store on the King’s Road  but comes with “a more intimate, boutique feel”.

Rixo and interior design studio Cúpla partnered on the design of the space that includes a series of arches which frame the clothes, bespoke spaces to house accessories and integrated classical mouldings “which pay homage to Marylebone’s classical architecture and heritage”.

Local artisans were also commissioned to create handmade fixtures and fittings in the store, including artist Sam Wood who designed and hand-painted illustrations throughout the space.

Meanwhile, the clothing rails were made by London based Haxch, and a local West London blacksmith was commissioned to make a full length wrought iron mirror for the store.

Fitting rooms feature Colours of Arley-commissioned bespoke stripe curtains made of 100% recycled bottles. The floor in the space is a Ca Pietra chequerboard tile in terracotta and neutral. As with the flagship, a yellow zig-zag stripe wallpaper from Salvesen Graham has been used throughout the space.

To balance the new fitout, Cúpla ensured antique furniture pieces were used throughout the store.

The store features the full Rixo collection including ready-to-wear, occasion, bridal, bridesmaids and accessories. There will be one of each product style displayed on the shop floor, in more of a concept store shopping experience. The fitting rooms have also been upgraded meaning three customers can try on at one time.
