Fashion Scout has revealed the list of emerging designers who will participate in the Ones to Watch showcase during London Fashion Week in September.
This season’s catwalk showcase will present Serbian designer Ana Ljubinkovic, Parsons graduate Anissa Aida, menswear designer Ester Kubisz and Billie Jacobina, who recently won the GFW Indonesian Residency Award, which is supported by the British Council.
The winners were selected from a long list of emerging designers by a panel of industry experts including Fashion Scout Founder and Creative Director Martyn Roberts, renowned fashion writer Tony Glenville, the initiative’s stylist Rebekah Roy and Kendall Robbins, from the British Council.
Ones to Watch is a collaborative catwalk showcase designed to raise the profile of emerging design talent globally and provide a platform to develop business.
“The Ones to Watch show is the perfect launch pad for talented new designers. This season’s four designers present completely different visions of the future of fashion. This is the success of ones to watch and why it is so popular,” said Fashion Scout Founder, Martyn Roberts.
The event, taking place on Friday 16 September at Freemasons' Hall in London, will be sponsored by UK leading optical retailer Specsavers.
“We are delighted to be part of this event showcasing talent from up and coming designers,” said Vickie Arklie, from Specsaver’s Buying Team. “These are pioneers of new trends, of which the eyewear industry follows with great interest. Gone are the days when glasses were just worn through necessity - they are now widely regarded as a must-have fashion accessory.”
