Luxury watch and jewellery retailer Goldsmiths, part of the hugely successful Watches of Switzerland Group, is significantly increasing its presence within the Hammerson-operated Bullring & Grand Central in Birmingham.

Its multi-million-pound investment will create one of the brand’s largest UK flagships.
The new store will extend its space to nearly 8,000 sq ft across a double height glazed shopfront, “showcasing branded areas for prestige brands, alongside an array of premium names in jewellery”.
The multibrand showroom will feature a hospitality bar and lounge area, alongside VIP consultation rooms and service and repair specialists.
“This latest commitment by Watches of Switzerland further demonstrates the appeal of Bullring and is reflective of [our] wider strategy to enliven its assets by introducing new brands, concepts and market firsts to excite and engage new audiences”, Hammerson said.
Toby Tait, Director Asset Management, added: “Jewellery and watches continue to be a top performing category across our portfolio, so we are looking forward to Goldsmiths’ strengthening the offer with its new elevated store later this year.”
It joins a host of new openings in the second half of the year, including M&S, Footasylum, EL&N, Lane7 and Sandbox VR. New Hammerson signings in recent months also include Inditex-owned Bershka and Pull&Bear.
Just two months ago, Goldsmiths said it was significantly increasing its presence at the Grosvenor-operated Liverpool One mall. It’s doubling the size of its existing store and introducing its ‘Goldsmiths Luxury’ (GS Luxury) concept to the showroom, which will open later this year. It’s set to be the brand’s largest location to date.
