Manchester United and England footballer Mason Greenwood has been dropped by sportswear giant Nike following his arrest on suspicion of rape, assault and threats of violence.

Nike previously said it had suspended its relationship with him soon after the news broke but has now officially ended the association.
"Mason Greenwood is no longer a Nike athlete," the US-based global retailer said in a statement.
The 20-year-old was released on bail by Greater Manchester Police last week pending further investigation and Manchester United said he would not return to training or matches "until further notice”.
Following Greenwood's arrest, Nike said that it was "deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations" and would "closely monitor the situation”.
Meanwhile, the club has made the bold move to offer supporters the opportunity to exchange replica shirts that bear Greenwood's name.
With so much at stake in picking and supporting the right major athletes to join their rosters of stars, major brands are only too aware of the damaged that can be caused to their image when things go wrong and that support can be quickly removed, as in the case of Greenwood.
