Dutch fashion designer Jan Taminiau has collaborated with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines on the design of comfort bags for the airline’s world business class. Passengers traveling in KLM world business class will receive the luxury bags as an exclusive present aboard intercontinental flights.

The collaboration between the fashion designer and the airline will be for the next few years with a new design launched every year. The comfort bags are currently available in 6 signature Taminiau designs and 12 different colors and contain essentials for a long flight, but can also be used after the flight.

The first comfort bag is a clutch inspired by a dress from Taminiau’s haute couture collection.

Jan Taminiau follows the Dutch designer duo Viktor & Rolf, who collaborated with KLM on the design of the comfort bags in 2011. Dutch couturier Mart Visser designed the current uniform of KLM personnel.

The collaboration with Jan Taminiau is part of International Dutch, KLM’s product vision that focuses on Dutch talent. Examples of International Dutch are the meals served in World Business Class, designed by Dutch Michelin Star chef Jacob Jan Boerma, the dinner service designed by Marcel Wanders, the uniforms by Mart Visser, and Hella Jongerius’ contribution to the interior design of the planes' cabin.

Jan Taminiau is one the most successful fashion designers from the Netherlands. In 2004, he launched his own label of the same name. Its collections have been presented annually during the Paris Haute Couture Week since 2007. In 2025, Jan Taminiau designed the dress worn by Queen Maxima of the Netherlands at the inauguration of King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands.
