Jacquemus goes to the fore at the next Paris Fashion Week. The women's ready-to-wear label, launched successfully in 2009 by young French designer Simon Porte Jacquemus, has announced on its Instagram account that it will open the dances at the Paris Fashion Week, staging its catwalk show on the eve of the week's official start.
On Instagram, the fashion label wrote it was "very happy to announce that it would stage the first show of the Paris season, on Monday 25th September at 8 pm," adding it was "very impatient to tell the rest of the story." No information was given about the show's venue.
Jacquemus usually shows on the Paris Fashion Week's first day, together with other emerging designers. This season it is breaking with tradition, its show being scheduled on the evening of the fashion week's eve, coinciding with the Milan Fashion Week's last day.
"There is no special strategy behind this, wrote the label, it is just a simple date change." As good a way as any, however, to generate some buzz ahead of the Fashion Week.
