World Junior Chess Championships: Team Armenia results in Round 8

In the men’s competition, Armenia’s Benik Agasarov lost to S Aswath (India), who is in sole second place, with 6.5 points, and is half a point behind sole leader Pranav V (India).

Agasarov has 5.5 points. Armenia’s Emin Ohanyan and Robert Piliposyan also have the same number of points, each. They share 12th to 23rd places.

In the 8th round, Ohanyan defeated Palgert Matias (Hungary), and Piliposyan beat Vepali Halniyazov (Turkmenistan).

In the women’s tournament, Armenia’s Milena Gasparyan won and shares 15th to 27th places, with 5 points. Armenia’s Ani Avetisyan played a drew and shares 29th to 43rd places, with 4.5 points.

Eleven rounds will be played at the 2025 World Junior Chess Championships.
