Jerome Dahan, founder of Citizens of Humanity and 7 For All Mankind, and Noam Hanoch who worked under Alber Elbaz at Geoffrey Beene and at Guess in the '80s, have paired up to launch a new label called Jean Atelier.

Jean Atelier

Jean Atelier mixes premium denim heritage with luxury ready-to-wear craftsmanship. The debut collection is denim focused with a twist. It uses elevated fabrics including Japanese selvedge denim and French lace. The launch assortment includes jeans, skirts, jackets, trousers and blouses.

Dahan explained, "It draws inspiration from the history and heritage of blue jeans but it has a feminine aesthetic and a point of view."

Both Dahan and Hanoch are denim design icons having worked together as design partners at Citizens of Humanity for ten years. They pulled inspiration from key moments in premium denim and fashion history to tell a modern story.

Hanoch said in addition to gleaning inspiration from Britney Spears in the '90s, they looked at "Dior pieces from Galliano’s early years at the house." They went deep into their denim archives back to Hanoch's days at Guess in the '80s.

Hanoch and Dahan are experts in denim fit as well as in trend, so they know their consumer requires premium fit in order to be successful as a brand. The duo's goal is to provide the customer with a curated capsule of collectible denim.

Dahan said, “We want to reach the denim aficionado who will appreciate the construction and also those who are simply attracted to the look and the feel of our fits."

The launch collection plays masculine relaxed fits against feminine lines and proportions. The full collection is now available online. Pieces start at $425.
