Events management company Meilleur Events will bring a number of Indian fashion designers to Australia with India Fashion Week Australia on August 11 at the Peninsula Dockland in Melbourne.
The upcoming India Fashion Week Australia will celebrate Indian fashion and bring a number of designers to Melbourne for a day of runway shows. Designers already booked for the event include Vitamin by Sonalika, the fashion brand designed by event co-organiser Sonalika Pradhan and co-managed by her husband, event co-organiser, and Bollywood actor Vishwajeet Pradhan. Rimi Nayak, who has shown at Lakme Fashion Week since 2008, has also been confirmed for the event.
The fashion event has opened its designer applications for further participating designers and stated on its social media that it is looking for designers in categories including Indian ethnic wear, bridal wear, haute couture, ready-to-wear, fall/ winter collections, and GenNext designers.
The event will also feature a judges panel which will present fashion awards which will include include celebrity judge Aron Katona. Along with runway shows, the event will feature live entertainment including Afghani singer Tahmina Arsalan.
The fashion show began its first round of model casting on May 3 and applications are currently open. The fashion event held a launch party in Mumbai in April to celebrate the upcoming event which was attended by Vishwajeet and Sonalika Pradhan and a number of celebrity guests.
