Michael Schumacher has flown to Switzerland to see his first granddaughter.
The Formula One legend has not been seen in public for 12 years following a horrific skiing accident in the French Alps, when he nearly died after a bad fall.
Schumacher was put into a medically induced coma after suffering a skull fracture and later underwent two brain surgeries.
To protect the sporting legend's privacy, his wife Corinna and his children are keeping details of his current condition strictly confidential, with only a select circle of close friends and family allowed to visit Schumacher.
Initially recovering from the traumatic accident at his mansion in Switzerland, Schumacher is believed to have moved to his Spanish villa to continue his recovery.
But The Sun reports that Schumacher made a rare trip to the family home on Lake Geneva to be by his daughter's side as she gave birth. The report claims that Schumacher flew in by helicopter to witness the special family occasion as Gina and her husband, Ian Bethke, welcomed daughter Millie on March 29.
