Bottega Veneta has launched a new line of products that expands the Bottega universe into the beauty sector. Mathieu Blasi’s highly acclaimed work as creative director of the brand will now enter new territory with the launch of five luxury fragrances.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Blasi spoke about the development of the house’s new fragrances. “I said I don’t want anything gendered… For me, in the world we live in, it doesn’t make sense. Unisex fragrances are progressive in this sense, as luxury brands face the need to adapt to changing ideas about gender identity among younger consumers,” he noted.
The scent’s notes reflect the diverse cultural composition of the brand’s homeland: Italian bergamot, geranium from Madagascar, Guatemalan cardamom, French angelica oil, and myrrh from Somalia.
Inspired by traditional Venetian glassblowing, the bottles are made using an innovative process that recreates the irregular air bubbles found in hand-blown Murano glass. The amorphous bottles are topped with Croatian wood caps and set on a slab of Verde Alpi marble.
The entire Bottega Veneta fragrance range, including Déjà Minuit, Colpo di Sole, Acqua Sale, Alchemie and Come with Me, are now available in 100ml bottles and as a sample set on the brand’s online store.
