Luxury lingerie specialist Coco de Mer has opened a new pop-up boutique in London's Knightsbridge, its first such store. It’s at 24a Motcomb Street and will be running until at least 1 March.

The boutique includes its lingerie and erotic products and gifts, as well as its “famous Salons on improving sexual wellness”.

It’s an interesting move given that the brand switched to a global digital-first strategy last year, moving to a new Primrose Hill HQ and private shopping space.

Coco de Mer owner and chief executive Lucy Litwack said: “The fresh focus on becoming a truly global brand with a digital-first strategy has really worked for us over the last year in boosting sales and profits.

“But I have bricks and mortar retailing in my blood and I was so excited by the idea of showcasing our beautiful lingerie and gifting in a location as wonderful as Motcomb Street. We are there until at least the start of March and have the option to stay for longer.

“We know that our customers love the personal shopping experience and hopefully they will see how important it is to have an independently owned luxury retailer offering something unique and completely different to the high street chains at such an iconic location.”

The shop windows have been hand-painted by Studio Braemar co-founder Sarah Peters, who’s known for creating bespoke shopfronts at boutiques across the West End and flower arrangements are being designed by Delta of Venus.

It’s a busy time for the company, which said that its new strategy has seen sales shooting up by 50%, “with a fivefold increase in the size of its wholesale division and a 45% surge in international stockists”.

It has also been helped by international celebrity collaborations with Helena Christensen and Pamela Anderson.
